Is there any better flavour combination than chocolate with orange? These Dark Chocolate-Covered Candied Orange Slices are the most perfect combination of Christmas flavours you could dream up.
This chocolate covered orange slices are incredibly delicious and super easy!
The tart orange slices and the smooth creamy dark chocolate work so well together.
Oranges can be sliced into thin rounds or wedges. Both work well!

INGREDIENTS:
2 oranges
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
3 ounces dark chocolate
INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash oranges well. Cut the ends off the orange and discard. Slice remaining orange into ¼ inch thick slices and again in the middle to create half moon
In a large pot over medium high heat, stir the water and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a gentle boil and add orange slices.
Reduce the heat to med low until it is just barely simmering. Cook oranges until they are translucent, turning over at least once. 40-60 minutes depending on the size of the orange slice
Remove orange slices from the pot and
place on a wire rack over a baking sheet covered in parchment paper to cool and harden at least 2 hours or overnight
Melt chocolate in a double boiler, dip half the orange in and them place them on parchment paper or a silicon mat to harden at least an hour. Store them in an airtight container on the counter for 1 week or in the refrigerator for a month
NOTES
1. Slice oranges your preferred way.
2. Use fresh, juicy oranges for best results.
2. Stop and stir chocolate mixture between each 30 second increment to prevent burning. It should only take two 30 second increments to be fully melted.
