Chocolate chip cookies

Updated: Feb 18, 2021

Just a simple, straightforward, amazingly chocolate-y, chocolate chip cookie recipe that turns out perfect every single time! The big chocolate chunks promise chocolate melting in your mouth with every single bite.

Use a cookie/ice cream scoop to make consistently even-shaped cookies.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup light brown or dark brown sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp BP

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chunks

  • 1 cup white chocolate chunks

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Preheat oven to 180 C degrees.

  • Line two baking trays with cooking paper

  • In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder

  • Mix together butter and sugars until combined

  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy

  • Mix in the dry ingredients until combined

  • Add the chocolate chunks and mix well

  • Chill the dough for half an hour

  • Roll 2-3 tbs of dough into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets

  • Bake in preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes

  • Let them sit on the baking tray for 2-3 minutes before transferring to cooling rack

Tips:
1. Underbaked cookies are the secret to softness
2. Using brown sugar results in a chewy cookie
3. Chilling the dough results in a thicker cookie
